Happy Thursday, everyone. Our warm and dry pattern looks to continue through today and into tomorrow. By Saturday, however, that pattern looks to be interrupted by the return of showers and thunderstorms.
This morning across the area, we're sitting in the upper 60s under plenty of sunshine. Temperatures will climb into the low 80s this afternoon, and with dew points in the 40s, it's shaping up to be a beautiful day. Tonight, temperatures will fall back through the 70s, making for a great evening to spend outdoors.
Tomorrow will be a rinse-and-repeat forecast. Highs will reach the mid 80s with dew points in the low to mid 50s, providing another pleasant day to close out the workweek. We may see a few more clouds move into the area ahead of Saturday's approaching storm system.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected to begin moving into the region during the early morning hours on Saturday and then later in the day storms will redevelop. Currently, the entire area is under a Level 2 of 5 Slight Risk for severe weather as a cold front moves through in the afternoon and evening hours. A few storms could become strong to severe. High temperatures on Saturday will likely only reach the upper 70s to low 80s before the front moves through.
Stay tuned for updates as we continue to refine the timing and severity of Saturday's storm threat.
